our mission and vision

Welcome to Peaceful Mind.

Our goal is to create and hold space for individuals in a non-judgemental and supportive way. We aim to provide service based on the principles of equity and equality though an anti-oppressive framework, with the intention to minimize harm. Our mission is to break the barriers and stigma associated with mental health and make therapy accessible.

Mushfeqa Azam

Registered Social Worker (RSE), Master of Social Work (MSW), and Clinical Director.
I am a Registered Social Worker with a passion for supporting individuals and families on their journeys toward healing and growth.
Over the years, I have been privileged to work with families navigating the aftermath of severe trauma, including sexual and family violence, and children facing behavioral and learning challenges. I've also had the opportunity to work with individuals dealing with anxiety, PTSD, autism, borderline personality disorder, and other mental health challenges. As a Bangladeshi Canadian, my own experiences of adversities have led me to the path of becoming a social worker. My goal is to meet you where you are at, and work alongside with you to empower and improve daily functioning by learning and developing new skills and coping mechanisms.

I believe in creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where every client feels heard and valued. My practice is rooted in a holistic, client-centered approach, prioritizing the well-being of my clients while embracing principles of autonomy, inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and social justice.

In our work together, I draw upon evidence-based, trauma-informed, integrative methods such as DBT, CBT, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, strength-based approaches, and mindfulness practices. I will work with you to create a plan that is unique and tailored to your needs.

I'm here to walk alongside you, offering empathy, understanding, and a commitment to helping you find your path to wellness.

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge the Indigenous people as the original caretakers of the lands of Canada. The land we are operating from is on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.

We recognize the enduring effects of colonization on Indigenous communities, cultures, languages, and homelands. As settlers we take responsibility for advancing reconciliation and standing in solidarity with Indigenous people in their pursuit of justice and the restoration of their rights. We are committed to learning, unlearning, and fostering meaningful relationships on this journey of healing.
